Healing Doesn’t Have to Be Lonely

Here, you don’t have to explain yourself. You don’t have to minimize what you’ve been through. You get to heal alongside others who share similar identities and experiences.

Who This Group Is For

This group is for LGBTQ+ adults who have experienced sexual trauma and are looking for a healing space that centers:

  • Community instead of isolation

  • Choice instead of pressure

  • Joy alongside grief and healing

  • Identity-affirming, trauma-informed care

You don’t need to be “ready” in any particular way. You don’t need to have words for everything. You just need a desire to move toward healing with others who get it.

Cost & Accessibility

We believe healing should be accessible.

  • Sliding scale fee, discussed during your free consultation

  • We accept the Pennsylvania Victim’s Compensation Assistance Program (VCAP)

  • We’re happy to talk openly and respectfully about cost and access

If finances feel like a barrier, we encourage you to reach out. These conversations are part of care, not something you need to navigate alone.

Who Facilitates the Group

Shira Adams (she/her), LPC, NCC

Shira is a licensed professional counselor with specialized experience supporting LGBTQ+ survivors and working with sexual trauma in a relational, identity-affirming, trauma-informed way.

Shira’s facilitation style centers safety, consent, collaboration, and respect. The group is guided with care, never rushed, never prescriptive, and always grounded in honoring each person’s autonomy.

  • "I felt validated and affirmed by all members of the group and felt so seen hearing other people's experiences"

    Fall 2025 Group Member

  • Five Stars. "I learned that joy can be found in many ways and it is ok to let ourselves do things that are supportive and joyful when experiencing pain."

    Fall 2025 Group Member

  • "Group has made me more aware of areas that I need to heal. There was a community aspect that I was missing before. Being able to relate and learn from multiple people's experiences has been eye opening as to how I need to heal as I did not know there were parts I have not yet started healing."

Frequently Asked Questions

  • That’s completely understandable. Many people feel anxious about group spaces, especially after trauma. The group moves at a gentle pace, guidelines are set together, and participation is always by choice. You’re welcome to observe, listen, and share only when and if you feel ready.

  • Fees are discussed during your free consultation. Sliding scale options are available to reduce financial barriers, and we also accept the Pennsylvania Victim’s Compensation Assistance Program (VCAP).

  • The best way to find out is through a free consultation. This gives you space to ask questions, learn more about the group, and decide without pressure whether it feels like a good fit.
